Inspire – High potential and gifted education
Some students learn faster and more easily than others. These students may shine in creativity, thinking, leadership or sport.
At our school, we recognise and nurture these strengths early. We support advanced learners with great lessons and activities to help them grow and thrive.
Why choose us for your high potential or gifted child?

Our students can participate in a wide range of state-wide opportunities that aim to extend and enrich student potential.
What is high potential and gifted education?
Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.
Our high potential and gifted education opportunities
Our students engage with HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW.
- Our classrooms offer tailored tasks that adjust to each student’s pace and challenge level, promoting deeper thinking.
- Maths Groups provide extension activities for students to explore advanced concepts.
- Primary students complete termly project-based homework that encourages choice, creativity, and integrates multiple subjects, making learning meaningful.
- We create a safe environment with high expectations, supporting every student to reach their potential.
- Leadership begins in Kindergarten with weekly roles and grows as older students mentor peers, especially in their expert areas like creative arts, fostering respect and collaboration.
- Sport - students begin competing at our school carnival and can progress to district and western levels. In 2025, three of our students reached the National Level in athletics and swimming. Our sports teams, including cricket, soccer, and basketball, have been highly successful and reflect the interests and talents of our students.
- Music - we have a choir and recorder groups, and each year we stage a whole-school musical, giving students the chance to engage creatively through singing, dancing, props, and stage production.
- Leadership - all Year 5 students participate in a leadership program before nominating for official roles within the school, house teams, or library. Senior students are encouraged to take on leadership roles and pursue their own initiatives.
- Academic - students participate in competitions such as APSMO (maths problem solving), as well as debating and spelling contests, providing further opportunities to extend their skills.
- Our school actively engages with Department opportunities, nominating students for the Festival of Music in singing and dance, participating in the Arts Unit Compass Arts Festival, and entering the Premier’s Spelling Bee.
- Sport - Every year, our students take part in the Premier’s Sporting Challenge and have opportunities to join Representative School Sport Pathways in sports like Rugby, AFL, and Basketball, with chances to play at the district level.
- We know our students well and ensure they can access all programs that match their skills and interests.
